Cheesy Cashew Nut Sauce



Cashews and nutritional yeast are used to make this creamy and tasty vegan cheese sauce. It tastes like cheese but doesn't contain any dairy. You can dip vegetables in it, drizzle it over nachos, or use it as a sauce for pasta or baked goods.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for at least 4 hours
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of paprika optional

Instructions:

Drain and rinse the soaked cashews

In a blender, combine the soaked cashews, nutritional yeast, water, lemon juice, garlic, onion powder, salt, and paprika if using

Blend until smooth and creamy, adding more water if needed to reach desired consistency

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary

Serve immediately as a sauce or dip, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days
