Kathin and Precepts at a Forest Monastery. Wat Pa Tham Na Nai, Sakon Nakhon Thailand

Back a couple weeks ago I was at Wat Phra That Choeng Chum for the end of the Rains Retreat, Auk Pansaa where the head monk of the Province, the Jao Kana Jangwat attempted to lead the congregation in reciting the 8 Preceps. As you can see not only did most people not particiapate many did not even have time to pay attention.
The 10th of November was Kathin at Wat Pa Tham Na Nai a forest wat in the tradition of Ajahn Mun.
If you watch both videos you will note some differences. One wat is ornate and the other is simple. At one wat people have not a clue about Buddhism at the other people are devout and are able to pay attention and chant the precepts. At one VIPs and their money subjugate the people while  at the forest wat the Buddha, Dhamma and the Sangha are the refuges.
This is why I often say, in general Thailand is not a Buddhist country. The forest Monasteries in The Tradition of Ajahns Mun, Maha Boowa, Chah and the others teach mind fullness teach, the 4 noble truths and teach moderation, while most of the monasteries in Thailand teach superstition and what I call voodhism from a bunch of men in brown who call themselves monks but have little or no interest in aspiring to Dhamma  or the Vinaya, or what the Buddha taught. Don't believe me look and see for yourself.
