I read about it in their website in mid September and thinking it was news, an upcoming event showed up 20 September to discover the correct date. You might also note that in the 7, yes count them 7, news article for 2012 they also have CEWEC listed for 3 October.
After a bit of negotiation and trying to find someone alive in the International Relations Ofiice or the University Public Relations Office
I got my hands on the 343 page, 8x11 inch 2012 CEWEC ISSN 2286-7120 The Fifth SNRU Conferenvce on Cooperation for Development of the East West Economic Corridor: Cooperation Networks for Sustainable Development towards ASEAN Community, Abstract Book.
You can read the AEC, ASEAN, EWEC propaganda elsewhere, but here is some information from the conference.
There were 6 Paper Presentations under Economics,Trade, Investment and Tourism, Agriculture, Agricultural Technology and Sufficiency Economy, and Management Sciences. 1 to do with the EWEC.
7 Paper Presentations under Science and Technology
47 Paper Presentations under Education
24 Paper Presentations under Humanities and Social Sciences
Under Poster Presentation
17 Science and Technology
11 Humanities and Social Science
which brings us to page 25 and the start of the Absracts
Less than 10% of all talks were directly related to ASEAN or EWEC.
The great majority of presentations by Thais were in Thai while the rest of the participants presented in English. I would think that is you were promoting English in aniticipation of ASEAN the presentations would all have been in English.
Here are some Presentation Titles from The Fifth SNRU Conference on Cooperation for Development of the East West Economic Corridor: Cooperation Networks for Sustainable Development towards ASEAN Community
"Comparative and Figurative Languages in Children's Literature: Harry Potter and Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire"
"The Application of Classroom Action Research to Improve the Learner's Analytical Thinking"
"Construction of Apparatus Measured Convention Efficiency of Thermoelectric Module"
"Cultural Factors in Human Resources Training for the Development of East West Economic Corridor"
the list goes on
Thailand I am sure is spending millions of baht on conferences, seminars and meeting like the with "AEC","ASEAN","EWEC" in the title that have or no relationship to preparing the country and the people for 2015.
Like the photo at the beginning of this post blame the children, not the teachers that got it wrong. Do it the Thai way the Buck starts here! okay the Baht.
