The Nation one of Thailand's Nearly English Language Dailies and more Lies

Today the paper ran this story "Booze, obesity cause most early deaths among Thais". Now we know this cannot be true as nearly 100% of  the Thai population is Buddhist and these are actions that are not prevalent in a country where nearly 100% of the population is practicing Buddhism.
First of all, all Buddhists try to keep the 5 precepts on a daily basis

1. Panatipata veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from destroying living creatures.
2. Adinnadana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from taking that which is not given.
3. Kamesu micchacara veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from sexual misconduct.
4. Musavada veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from incorrect speech.
5. Suramerayamajja pamadatthana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs which lead to carelessness.

So at worst someone, since Buddhism teaches moderation, a Thai Buddhist might have a glass of wine or beer with their meal, so alcohol cannot be a problem, And HIV/AIDS cannot exist seriously since the people refrain from sexual misconduct.
On Uposatha (Moon Days) Buddhists take the 8 precepts
6. Vikalabhojana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from eating at the forbidden time (i.e., after noon).
7. Nacca-gita-vadita-visukkadassana mala-gandha-vilepana-dharana-mandana-vibhusanathana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from dancing, singing, music, going to see entertainments, wearing garlands, using perfumes, and beautifying the body with cosmetics.
8. Uccasayana-mahasayana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami
I undertake the precept to refrain from lying on a high or luxurious sleeping place.

So once a week Buddhists do not eat after noon, surely this decreases the chances of obesity, as well as staying up all night with the Bhikkhu Sangha, meditating and hearing the Dhamma keeps people in good form.
The Dhamma that teaches about kilesas and Greed, Hatred and Delusion, which in a Non Buddhist country are prevalent, but in a Buddhist Country the Sangha, in their actions and teachings warns people about this gross conduct and it is avoided. Buddhist people in a Buddhist country do not suffer from alcohol abuse or obesity-Period.

The Nation should stop these terrible lies and realize that in a Buddhist country there is no such thing "early death" as death occurs at the correct time. It is your karma (kamma), live and die with it
