I undertake the training rule to abstain from sexual misconduct. 3rd Precept Buddhism Thailand
Thais top the infidelity charts" was the lead in the Bangkok Post article discussing a survey of 36 countries (which ones?).
Now this story should not even run in Thailand as it does not show Thailand in a favorable light, or does it? First of all Thailand is a Buddhist country and as the title of this post quotes the 3rd Buddhist Precept, followed by more than 90% of the population, the people of Thailand do not partake in sexual misconduct, meaning extramarital sex. Perhaps the survey only centered on Thai Christians, and maybe Muslims in the South, no telling about those people. Or perhaps the respondents lied, but of course we know that would not happen in a Buddhist country as the 4th Precept clearly states "I undertake the training rule to abstain from false speech."
The only way I can see 54% of Thai men having extramarital sex is if they consider sex with their hand (aka masturbation) and extramarital event. And the women, thanks to the women of Ghana, came in 2d with 59% claiming extramarital sex.
