No Flooding Getting Deeper and Deeper in Thailand 22.06.12

Well it really does seem to get deeper and deeper, or as we might say in Ireland "How tick can they be. In The Nation one of Thailand's Nearly English Language Dailies "Ayutthaya will be submerged again" is the headline. It goes on to say "Bangkok, Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi should not be affected too badly by floods this year because enough dykes and embankments have been built to protect them, though Ayutthaya will be under more than 3 metres of water, experts said yesterday." While way back on 27.04.12 the other of Thailand's Nearly English Language Dailies the "Bangkok Post" ran the story  "Analysts savage flood plan" where they state "Analysts blasted the government's water management plan, saying it focuses too much on construction and not enough on area management and non-structural flood control schemes."
Now I am aware the both of
Thailand's Nearly English Language Dailies are aware that most of the Thai citizens are not terribly literate, based on ONET scores and it seems most westerners cannot look at either paper past the sports page and funnies, but the more articles one puts together, the deeper the flood gets. Just read 2 or more articles side by side and travel the maze that is "Fast and Furious, Thai style." Everyone has a different opinion and as will be investigated in future posts a lot has been spent, but at the end of the day not much really don. And oh, by the way, how has that compensation program been going....
